Moose River Chamois Co - Microfibre Instruction Sheet
The joy of microfiber cleaning is that you can get your house sparkling clean without the use of any chemicals - with just the use of ordinary tap water! Microfiber cleaning is not only easier on your pocketbook due to not having to buy all those cleaning products, it is also better for the environment!
Microfiber mop
Get your floors clean with by microfiber cleaning using a microfiber mop and no cleaning chemicals. Use your microfiber mop both wet and dry.
For Dry Sweeping
- Use your white microfiber cleaning head dry to sweep the floor. In one long unbroken flowing motion, sweep your entire floor with the white microfiber mophead. Don't use a standard sweeping movement (e.g. short strokes towards yourself). The swivel head will allow you to sweep in between table legs and chairs without even having to move the chairs out from the table.
- After you have finished sweeping, go outside your house (out onto the balcony if you live in an apartment) peel the microfiber cleaning pad off the velcro on the head of the mop, and give it two or three sharp flicks (like "snapping" a wet towel) to clean the accumulated floor dirt off.
Wet for Mopping
- Wet your blue microfiber cleaning pad thoroughly under hot or warm water in the sink. When the microfiber cleaning pad is soaking wet, pick it up and give it a squeeze. Don't try to squeeze it completely dry (e.g. don't wring it out), just try to get about 50% of the water out of it. Hot water works best.
- Lay the microfiber cleaning pad flat on the floor with the blue microfiber cleaning side flat on the floor. Make sure the microfiber cleaning pad is completely flat and straight before you attempt to put the mop onto it.
- It is easiest to put the mop head on the mop if you have the extendable mop handle at its shortest length.
- Hold the top of the mop handle in front of you with one hand, and then place flat part of the mop head (the part with the velcro on it) flat on the floor. This will level out the mop head so it will be easy to put it on the microfiber cleaning pad.
- Now lift your mop back up and then place it back down on the microfiber cleaning pad that is on the floor.
- Step on the mop head with both feet to make sure that the velcro has grabbed on the microfiber cleaning pad.
- Mop your floor.
- When the mop doesn't slide as easily over the floor, it is time to rinse it out again and start over. (If the mop feels like it is sticking to the floor, it is too dry.) Peel the microfiber cleaning pad off and repeat steps 1 through 6.
- After you have finished mopping, throw the microfiber cleaning pad into the washing machine with your normal load of laundry or wash it by hand in the sink. You can use laundry soap or a liquid dishwashing soap. No fabric softner. No bleach.
- Hang to dry - never put it in the dryer.
Microfiber Cloths
Your microfiber cloths can be used wet or dry. Dry for dusting, wet for washing. The colours don't make any difference.
- When wiping counter tops, tables, appliances etc, you don't want to use too much water. Either use a spray bottle or water on the surface to be cleaned, and the cloth, or completely soak the cloth under the tap and thoroughly wring it out. The better you wring it out, the better it will work. (Note - it is easier to wring it out if you fold it up several times and then wring it, don't just wad it up into a ball and squeeze it.)
- When using on windows and mirrors, and glass table tops use a dry microfiber cloth for a final finishing wipe as the glass surface is drying. This will ensure a streak-free, lint free finish every time.
- The microfiber cloth can be washed in the washing machine with your normal load of laundry, or by hand with laundry soap or liquid dish soap; hang to dry. Never put it in the dyer. No fabric softener. No bleach.
- You will love your microfiber cloth for washing dishes. If you are going to use it for that, make sure to rinse it THOROUGHLY with hot water after you are done with it for the day, hang it up to dry over night. If you do this, you can use the same cloth for many days before it needs to go in the wash.
- For cleaning bathroom sinks, kitchen counters, shower stalls, etc, just use the cloth damp with water.
- The white cloth with the waffle design is a dish cloth.
